Shifter RPG

Haze kept his mouth closed as he tracked the spike down. (His senses are screwed up, you see? He can pick energies up but he can't track them down well, so he thinks the human is stalking them and waiting to strike.)

Cho hissed as she explained what happened. Ack couldn't help but burst out into laughter, "He burned down the WHOLE tribe?! Wow, he must really think your something then!" she laughed.

Haze closed his mind to everything but the spike. He grasped it, and located the source.
And stopped.
He opened his eyes slowly, and turned to face 'Shade'. He felt his legs turn to jelly.

Cho hissed louder and Ack realized what she was hissing about. She turned to Haze, ready to leap back if he decided to hurt her. Cho turned to face him, "She doesn't hate shifters, Haze." was all she said.

"You... lied..." He whispered, eyes darting from Cho to 'Shade'.
"...then what's your real name...?" His voice was shaky, and he was fighting the lump in his throat. He couldn't hurt her.
He could never hurt her.

"Ava," she paused, debating wether to say her full name. "...Ava Charlotte Krause." she said. Her eyes where sad as she looked at Haze, but she didn't say anything else.

"I'm sorry..." He muttered. "...I'm sorry..."
His eyes showed how wholehearted he was. He wasn't ever going to hurt her. Or put her in any sort of harm. He would never tell Shadow or Falling if they were going to hurt her.

Releif flooded over the both of them. Ack kept her gaze locked with him, obviously debating her feelings for him.

He lost her gaze and turned. With no reason or need to, he slumped to the ground in a heap.

Ack continued to look him over, turning away slowly with her posture slouched.

Shadow hadn't been watching. Once he felt the human spike too, he stopped and froze in place. He slumped against a tree and promised he wouldn't hurt Haze by telling Falling.

Haze stayed there, motionless. He was still conscious, but he just couldn't move.

Cho watched both of them realizing how hard it must be for them, especially Haze.

Falling came back along the bank and noticed Cho. Haze had colapsed on the ground and Shade seemed to be crying. He rushed over and asked what had happened.

"Err..." Cho began, "Their squirrel died.." she said.

"And Haze is on the ground because...?"

Cho shrugged, "I can't read minds Falling." she said innocently.

He wasn't satisfied, but he brushed past Ack and slung Haze over his shoulder anyways.

Cho watched him, and managed to put it "A bullet shot Shadow's arm." she told him "It come from no where, I couldn't sense a thing."

He seemed surprised; that didn't happen every day. "He's alright, though, right?"
(BACK TO THE SHELTER DOODLEOODLOOODLEOOODLOOOOO)

"Yeah, he's fine." she said.

They arrived back at the shelter. Shadow hopped up and ran to Falling to see if Haze was okay.
"He's fine." Said Falling. "Not sure why he fainted, though." Falling lied him in his hammock, Haze's lack of movement alien to him. "So, where will Shade and Shadow be sleeping?"

Cho looked around, spotting a sheltered spot where the tree branches where low and bearly any rain would seep through them. "There, I guess.." she said, "There's not much around here.."

Shadow stood up straight. "I'll be fine in the tree tops, if you don't mind." He motioned to his arm, "But I won't be climbing with my hands, I'll be climbing with my wings."

Cho nodded and looked at Ack, who didn't seem to care where she slept at this point.

Shadow glanced over at Haze, who still showed no sign of awakening. He just lied there in the same position that Falling had set him down in. Then he shifted his wings and jumped onto a strong wide branch, relaxing on it.
